About Me
My name is Jilly Reid, and I am a Specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist and a mum of one. I am extremely passionate and experienced in supporting and treating women throughout their pregnancy and postnatal journey.
I graduated from King’s College London with a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy, and began my career as a physiotherapist at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals in London. As a junior physiotherapist in the NHS I completed rotations to gain a wide range of experience. I soon discovered that my passion was in Women’s Health physiotherapy and I have never looked back. I spent the first years of my Women’s Health physiotherapy career working in the NHS with much of this time being a senior specialist Women’s Health physiotherapist at Imperial College NHS London. During my career I have been fortunate to work with some highly experienced specialists in this field. I also trained to be a Pilates instructor, which I believe has been invaluable in enhancing my practice.
I moved to Edinburgh in January 2020 and made the move into private practice and ultimately set up my own private practice in early 2021.
My passion and experience lie in treating both pregnant and postnatal women for specific, pregnancy and postnatal related musculoskeletal conditions and pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. A woman’s body goes through so many changes during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period and I personally believe that this area is underserviced, and that there is not enough reliable information and support out there for women.
My aim is to empower women with the knowledge and tools to help woman feel confident, strong and healthy in their changing and evolving bodies whilst working together to achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.
